About the GDPR

The new EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR, German: DSGVO) came into force on 25 May 2016 and will become mandatory on 25 May 2018.
This will lead to a far-reaching unification of European data protection law. While national legislations based on the EU Data Protection Directive have so far created considerable differences, the Basic Data Protection Regulation will be directly applicable law in all member states. Minor differences can only be expected from the possibility of so-called "opening clauses". Opening clauses offer national legislators the opportunity to enact their own national regulations.

Objectives
The objectives of the EU GDPR are to protect the fundamental rights and freedoms of natural persons and in particular their right to the protection of personal data (Art. 1 para. 2 GDPR) and the free movement of personal data (Art. 1 para. 3 GDPR). The preceding objectives are to be achieved through the principles of processing personal data laid down in Art. 5 GDPR: Legality, good faith, transparency, purpose limitation, data minimisation, accuracy, storage limitation, integrity and confidentiality, accountability. Data that is not necessary to use a product or service may not be stored. This means if the customer does not want his personal data to be stored. data is stored, recorded and processed and this is not urgently necessary to perform the service, this may not be done.
